At Heather's Music Academy, providing top-notch music lessons tailored to your individual needs is my specialty. Whether you're passionate about the piano/theory, violin, or want to explore beginner voice training, I offer lessons in my welcoming home studio, at your residence, or online. I am dedicated to nurturing your musical talent and helping you reach your full potential.​
 
This is the place where your musical aspirations take flight. Choose your favourite genre or mix them. Formal or informal lesson formats. I am committed to creating a supportive environment where you can flourish as a musician. My mission is to inspire, educate, and instill a lifelong love of music in all my students.

Rates:

$26/30 minutes; $50/60 minutes (at my studio)

$32/30 minutes: $56/60 minutes (at your home)

I'm Heather! My musical journey began when I was 4. I studied the piano with the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum up to and including Grade 10 and its corresponding theory requirements. I am also trained in violin and have performed as a member of orchestras.  Further, I learned to play the organ in my teen years and eventually worked in the role of Music Director in various churches.

 

After high school, I studied music at McMaster University while continuing private piano studies.

As a private teacher of 10 years, I have taught music lessons in my home studio, at elementary schools, and in local music schools. 

​

Additionally, I recently graduated from an Honours BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (music, psychology, criminology, gerontology) after many years away from academics. Having taken courses in developmental psychology, together with years of teaching experience, I am well aware of the various age-related learning stages and the methods of instruction that are most effective in different age groups. 

​
